Tell us about your business, when was it formed and what do you do?

ZIEHL-ABEGG formed in 1910 in Berlin Germany are essentially a motor manufacturer who has found their way into more specific markets. Whilst electric motors are our heart, we are one of the largest fan manufacturers in the world, whilst also being known in the lift industry as one of the best for lift motors and inverters.

Our modern technology, high efficiency, higher performance and exceptional aftersales service all help us to be one of the key suppliers to the global lift industry.

Who are your customers? Which markets do you serve?

Our customers vary from new lift package manufacturers, lift controller manufacturers and then also lift companies and dealers who are looking for products for modernisation.

How many times have you been to LIFTEX?

Personally, this is my 3rd one, however ZIEHL-ABEGG UK has supported and exhibited at LIFTEX since its formation.

What are the main issues that your customers deal with and how do you help them?

Our customers engage with us when they are looking for a lift motor or inverter as a long term solution. For some installations, it’s all about price and that’s really not our market, we do not see our products as a disposable commodity, they are a long term high quality solution for years to come.

End users and customers now have a drive towards sustainability, efficiency and Net Zero, they want their products to last. This is why we are now seeing a rapid business growth in this sector.

Are there any issues that specifiers, contractors / owners should be aware of in the next 12 months?

Whilst there are changes imminent in the lift industry regulations surrounding fire safety and evacuation, there are no upcoming changes in the short term that would affect our products.

We have further opportunities now with our EVAC 3C evacuation unit for lifts along with the ZArec regen unit for energy saving with new sustainability and efficiency targets for building owners and designers.

How can we, as an industry, help designers and building owners to become more energy efficient and meet Net Zero targets?

By providing high efficiency products, that are designed to last a long time and maintain high performance across their lifespan. This is something that is really important to ZIEHL-ABEGG and is one of our company values, we want to make the world more liveable.

What will you be promoting / what can visitors expect to see on your stand?

Our range of lift motors and inverters that the industry knows and loves. Modernisation solutions for some of the package lifts that have been so popular in previous years in the UK lift industry along with our future solutions for energy saving and high efficiency.

What advice would you give to anyone visiting the show? What should they look for and how can they get the most from their visit?

Take time to look at every stand in the hall, there will be some really interesting an innovative products on offer for our industry and future solutions and ideas that you may not have considered. Speak to the exhibitors, they are on the stand for 2 days and your engagement is really what makes the event successful for everyone.
