Tell us about your business, when was it formed and what do you do?

J&L has been driving quality in the lift industry since 2004, starting with a sharp focus on hoisting machines, both geared and gearless, and have steadily expanded our product line. Today, we’re proud to offer machine conversion kits (including bed plates) for all major MRLs, oil-filled buffers that offer excellent value, and LED shaft lighting that’s low smoke, halogen-free, and built to last whilst maintaining lux levels for years. We also carry a wide range of spare parts of all brands.

Who are your customers? Which markets do you serve?

We support lift companies across the UK and Ireland. If you haven’t worked with us yet, we’d love the opportunity to show you what makes J&L different—exceptional service, deep technical know-how, and a proven track record.

How many times have you been to LIFTEX?

We’ve proudly attended every show since 2007. It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with the industry. Our goal? To provide high-quality, dependable products to lift companies that won’t settle for second best.

What are the main issues that your customers deal with and how do you help them?

Our customers often come to us when they hit a wall with complex projects. Take a recent job, for instance: we helped upgrade a 5-ton goods lift to an 8-ton capacity. That meant supplying a new machine, custom steelworks, full surveys, drawings—the whole package. We don’t just sell components; we deliver tailored solutions, on time and to spec.

How can we, as an industry, help designers and building owners to become more energy efficient and meet Net Zero targets?

There’s been a positive shift toward modernising existing systems instead of full replacements, and I’m all for it. Why scrap 50-year-old guides and steel work that were built to last? With today’s advanced drive and machine technologies, we can upgrade efficiently and sustainably. Sure, high-quality equipment has a cost—but the long-term savings and environmental impact make it worth every penny.

What will you be promoting / what can visitors expect to see on your stand?

We’re excited to showcase our new web shop, cutting-edge belt-driven machines, and belt monitoring technology. Whether you’re looking to streamline sourcing or explore the latest in lift tech, we’ve got something for you.

What advice would you give to anyone visiting the show? What should they look for and how can they get the most from their visit?

Arrive early, give yourself time to properly explore the stands, and don’t rush—allow extra time for those impromptu meetings with industry friends. And, of course, stop by stand C24 and say hello!
