60 seconds with…Susan Terry, Joint General Manager, Global1Partners Ltd

Tell us about your business, when was it formed and what do you do?
Since 1993, Global1Partners have grown to become one of the leading UK suppliers. Our partnership with FERMATOR, world leaders in manufacturing lift doors, gives us the knowledge and flexibility to deliver high-quality door solutions. OEM-compliant spare parts and components complement our door range.
We also offer the innovative Green Gem unit, which captures regenerative energy from the lift motor and returns it to the controller—offering greater efficiency than traditional regen systems.
Who are your customers? Which markets do you serve?
UK Lift Contractors – new lifts, modernisation, repairs & spare parts, with the infrastructure to support each one with equal merit. Our skilled team offer tailored one-to-one service, listening to customers and recognising that every project is unique. Our approach gives us the foundation to build long term partnerships. We work closely with consultants, councils & designers to meet performance specs. We increasingly supply UK-spec compliant Fermator doors to European Lift Manufacturers.
How many times have you been to LIFTEX?
We have been exhibiting at LIFTEX for many years and we are proud to be part of this flagship UK Industry event. I personally have been to many of them over the years, both as a visitor and as an exhibitor. Global Lift Equipment Ltd in the past have exhibited 6 times. Now as Global1Partners Ltd, this will be our 2nd time exhibiting, so my first in the position of Joint General Manager. Myself and the team are very excited about showcasing our products and catching up with everyone on Stand C12.
What are the main issues that your customers deal with and how do you help them?
Our role is to adapt quickly and ease pressure on our customers, who often face tight deadlines, be it for tenders, deliveries, surveys or site visits. By building long-term relationships, we respond effectively, positively and add real value. We also support compliance with standards and specifications through close collaboration and discussions with our customers, ensuring end users get exactly what they need, in keeping with our ethos of supplying “the right door for the right application.”
Are there any issues that specifiers, contractors / owners should be aware of in the next 12 months?
Regulations are evolving, with changes to standards and shift toward sustainability, requiring design and document updates. Staying informed and compliance will be critical.
Demand for energy-efficient, low-carbon systems is rising, pushing future-ready solutions. As buildings age, budgets tighten, modernisation vs. replacement decisions need careful cost analysis. There’s growing demand for digital integration with BMS, IoT & remote monitoring, making compatibility and cybersecurity essential
How can we, as an industry, help designers and building owners to become more energy efficient and meet Net Zero targets?
We welcome the growing demand for energy-efficient products, which are now often standard. We encourage long-term thinking in modernisation, beyond short-term savings.
Supporting informed choices means promoting responsible manufacturing and whole-life carbon assessments—factoring in production, transport and disposal.
Our FERMATOR range includes energy-saving solutions like PM motors (50% more efficient) and Green Gem, the smart choice over RE-GEN, offering up to 70% energy for the end user
What will you be promoting / what can visitors expect to see on your stand?
We promise a warm welcome with a 5 star experience to all visitors to our stand. At Global1Partners you will see many new door solutions across the range such as BELT FREE Folding Doors to one stop NOVUS door operator solutions, where we will be launching our much requested New Generation Ultimate Reference Guide.
Anti-Vandal Doors For Local Authority applications will be a highlight. Most Importantly, our team will be there to welcome visitors to listen and discuss their individual needs.
What advice would you give to anyone visiting the show? What should they look for and how can they get the most from their visit?
For anyone who is in doubt about coming to the exhibition, LIFTEX is well worth a visit and if you miss it this time, you will have to wait another 3 years until 2028! Make sure you look at the floor plan and prepare for your visit as time runs away very easily. Make sure you come and see us, THE LEADING EXPERTS IN DOOR SOLUTIONS at stand C12, we look forward to seeing you and answering your challenging questions! … My best advice – register yourself today!
